How Does a Conveyor Idler Work?
Conveyor idlers(rollers)support the conveyor belt and materials, using smooth rotation to reduce friction and ensure stable transportation.
When the conveyor runs, the belt drives the idler shell to rotate around the shaft. The high-quality bearings inside reduce resistance,so the idler spins freely with minimal friction. This rotation prevents the belt from dragging and lowers energy consumption.
The idler’s main job is to support the weight of the belt and materials, keep the belt from sagging, and maintain stable running. At the feeding point, impact idlers absorb shock to protect the belt.Self-aligning idlers help correct belt deviation, while sealing structures keep dust and water out of the bearings, ensuring long service life even in harsh environments.
In short, conveyor idlers turn sliding friction into rolling friction, making material transport efficient, stable, and low-wear.
