For long-distance belt conveyors (especially over 100m, mine, port, bulk material handling), these are the most widely used rollers:
1. Standard Troughing Idlers / Carrying Rollers
3‑roll or 5‑roll troughing set
Support the loaded belt
Most common roller on the carrying side
2. Return Rollers
Support the empty return belt
Usually single straight rollers
3. Impact Rollers
At loading / feeding points
With rubber rings to absorb impact
Protect belt and rollers
4. Self‑Aligning / Training Rollers
Prevent belt misalignment over long runs
Automatically correct belt wandering
5. Transition Rollers
At conveyor head/tail
Smoothly change belt from flat to trough shape
6. Special Long‑Life Rollers
HDPE / plastic shell rollers – lightweight, low noise, corrosion‑resistant
Steel rollers with labyrinth seals – dustproof & waterproof
Ceramic‑coated rollers – ultra wear‑resistant for harsh conditions
