Which Idlers Are Suitable for Cement Plants?

Cement plants feature heavy dust,high abrasion,heavy loads,and sometimes high temperatures,so heavy‑duty,dust‑proof,wear‑resistant idlers are required.Below are the most suitable types and their applications.

Troughing Idlers

These are the most widely used on the carrying side of belt conveyors.They provide stable support for bulk materials like raw meal,coal,and cement clinker.They typically use 35°or 45°trough angles and heavy‑duty steel tubes to withstand high loads and impact.

Impact Idlers

Essential at feeding points,transfer points,and discharge zones where material drops heavily.They are equipped with rubber rings or cushion discs to absorb impact,protect the conveyor belt,and reduce damage from sharp or heavy materials such as clinker.

Return Idlers

Used on the return belt to support the empty conveyor belt.They help reduce belt sag and friction.In dusty cement plant environments,sealed return idlers prevent dust accumulation and bearing failure.

Self‑Aligning Idlers

Used on long conveyor lines to automatically correct belt misalignment.They prevent belt deviation,edge wear,and material spillage,which are common problems in cement conveying systems.
