Port conveyors handle heavy loads, high humidity, salt corrosion, continuous operation, and frequent material impact. The rollers used must be corrosion‑resistant, durable, low‑noise, and heavy‑duty.Below are the most commonly used types.
Troughing Rollers
The most basic and widely used rollers on the carrying side. They form a trough shape to stably transport bulk cargo like coal, ore, grain, and sand.Usually designed with 35°or 45°angles,they have high loading capacity and stable operation for long‑distance port conveyors.
Impact Rollers
Essential at ship loaders, unloading points, and material transfer stations. They are fitted with rubber rings or buffer discs to absorb strong impact when bulk materials fall, protecting the conveyor belt and extending its service life.
Return Rollers
Used to support the empty return belt. They prevent belt sag and reduce running resistance. In port environments, they are usually equipped with good sealing to resist moisture and dust.
Self‑Aligning Rollers
Widely used on long port conveyor lines. They automatically correct belt deviation and reduce edge wear. This is very important for continuous, stable operation in terminals.
Corrosion‑Resistant Rollers
A must for coastal port environments. These rollers use anti‑corrosion surface treatment, stainless steel components,or HDPE material to resist salt spray, humidity, and seawater corrosion, greatly extending service life.
Labyrinth‑Sealed Rollers
All port conveyors need highly reliable sealing.Multi‑stage labyrinth seals prevent dust, coal powder, and moisture from entering the bearings, ensuring stable operation under heavy‑duty working conditions.
