Introduction to Maintenance of Conveyor Roller

Rollers are the core load-bearing components of belt conveyors. Good maintenance can reduce equipment failure rates, minimize belt wear, and extend service life. Daily maintenance should follow the principles of regular inspection, timely cleaning, and standardized replacement to ensure stable operation of the equipment.

Daily inspections should be conducted every shift to observe whether the rollers rotate flexibly, whether there is any jamming, abnormal noise, jumping, or deviation, and to promptly remove materials, dust, and debris adhering to the surface to avoid jamming and exacerbating wear. Inspect the roller sealing device, bearing seat, and bracket weekly to ensure that the sealing ring and dust cover are intact and undamaged, and to prevent water, dust, and corrosive media from entering the interior of the bearing.

Calibrate the installation position of the idler every month to ensure that it is perpendicular to the centerline of the conveyor belt, preventing belt deviation and unilateral wear. For oilable rollers, regularly add lithium based grease that is resistant to high temperatures and water splashes according to the usage environment, in small amounts and multiple times, to avoid oil shortage or excessive grease.

When severe wear, deformation, cracking, bearing overheating and abnormal noise, sealing failure or inflexible rotation of the roller body is found, the machine should be stopped immediately for replacement to avoid operation with defects. In harsh working conditions such as humidity, dust, and corrosion, it is recommended to use waterproof, dustproof, and anti-corrosion rollers, and shorten the inspection cycle appropriately. Standardized roller maintenance can effectively reduce energy consumption and maintenance costs, and improve the overall operational efficiency and safety of conveyors.
